Lex Strauss

Founder & Outfitter

Lex Strauss founded Lex Strauss Hunting Safaris after building his career around hunting, wildlife and the African outdoors. He qualified as a Professional Hunter in 2012 and obtained his outfitter and dangerous-game qualifications in 2015.

His approach combines traditional hunting skills, careful trophy assessment and personalised service. Lex remains directly involved in planning and conducting safaris, with a particular focus on Cape Buffalo, plains game and selected dangerous-game hunting across Southern Africa.

Ralf Abbas

German Partner

Ralf Abbas, who has a passion for dangerous game, joined the Lex Strauss Safaris family in 2022 as our European Partner and Professional Hunter.

Ralf’s forty years of hunting experience in Europe, Canada, Northern Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Scotland and Africa, as well as his ability to communicate with clients in their mother tongue, have made him a valued asset to our company.

Ralf has a passion for dangerous game hunting and is a registered professional Hunter.

Carsten Behring

European Head of Marketing

Carsten Behring, our European Head of Marketing, combines global marketing expertise with a deep passion for hunting and conservation. Fluent in German, Carsten is a vital link to our European clients, ensuring they feel at home from their first inquiry to their African adventure.

A seasoned hunter with a history of trophy hunts across the globe, Carsten frequently accompanies clients to Africa, providing guidance and ensuring a flawless safari experience. His presence bridges cultures and enhances the overall journey.

Carsten’s strategic vision has been key in expanding our brand throughout Europe, and his hands-on experience in the field allows him to understand and meet our clients’ needs. Justice Bebeda

Tracker, Skinner & Professional Hunter

With more than 15 years of experience, Justice Bebeda is an experienced tracker, skinner and qualified Professional Hunter. His knowledge of spoor, animal behaviour and the African bush makes him an important part of the Lex Strauss Hunting Safaris team.
